Happy Friday and Happy Memorial Day weekend! Here are some buzzworthy events to check out this holiday weekend.
Houston sports
Everyone in Houston is “buzzing” about our hometown sports teams including Buzz residents Phil Cohen, Andy Bursten, Larry Selzer and Brad Zucker (pictured, from left at a Rockets vs. Mavericks game).
Watch The Rockets in the playoffs this weekend as Coach McHale leads the team to face the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals Game 3 at 8 p.m. on Saturday. They will play again in Game 4 on Monday at 8 p.m. The games will be air on ESPN.
If you are not one of the lucky ones to catch the game live at Toyota Center, check out spots to view the game in our March Dining Guide.
If you’ve been too focused on the Rockets, don’t worry about being late to the Astros bandwagon. You can catch a game this weekend. The Astros have their best record in franchise history. They will face the Detroit Tigers on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Detroit.
Last but not least, if you’re a Houston Dynamo fan, they will face the Los Angeles Galaxy in an away game tonight at 9:30 p.m.
Bay Day Festival
Kemah Boardwalk will host the annual Bay Day Festival. The events start at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Admission is free and families can enjoy hands-on, interactive exhibits, activities and demonstrations that emphasize the multiple uses of the Galveston Bay system.
