Help from my friends
Rummel Creek Elementary’s entire first-grade class marched across campus to Westchester Academy for International Studies to thank the school’s theater director, Andrew Maddocks, and his technical-theater students. Maddocks’ class helped Rummel Creek Elementary by building a stage for the first graders’ annual play, How Does Your Garden Grow?, produced with help from the school’s PTA. The WAIS theater class purchased all of the materials, constructed the stage, and set it up in the cafeteria. Rummel Creek Elementary is located in the district’s temporary buildings, adjacent to the WAIS campus, while a new school is being constructed – with a completion date expected for this fall. Maddocks was this year’s Teacher of the Year for WAIS High School.
