The Eagle way

Mathew Garrett Delgado

Mathew Garrett Delgado recently became an Eagle Scout at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church Boys Scout Troop 642. He served multiple leadership roles in the troop including assistant patrol leader and patrol leader. He attended El Rancho Cima, the Sam Houston Area Council’s camp, for five years. Mathew earned 25 merit badges, including the God and Church Award, an extra badge a boy can earn (which is not required for the Eagle). He was elected into the Order of the Arrow in the summer of 2011 and completed his Ordeal at El Rancho Cima. Mathew was a part of the High Adventure trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in 2013, serving as the crew leader. His Eagle project benefited the Brookwood Community Center. Mathew is a 2015 Strake Jesuit College Preparatory graduate and will attend Auburn University to major in construction management and building science.
