Friends helping PALS
Residents mingled, sipped on cold beer, and enjoyed Goode Co. BBQ at the third annual People Against Leigh Syndrome (PALS) event at the Saint Arnold Brewing Company. The group was formed in 2013 by the friends of William Martin, a Houston boy diagnosed with a progressive and fatal form of a mitochondrial disease called Leigh Syndrome. PALS supports awareness and efforts leading to a treatment or a cure. A total of $90,420 was raised from the event and will benefit the UT Mitochondrial Center of Excellence and the Memorial Hermann Hospital. Also there in support were Craig Peterson, Mary and Larry Peterson and Stacey and Andrew Brod. See peopleagainstleighs.org.
