Elyce Skrivanek, Nambai, Domini, Mohyina

Nambai (Maasai tribal chief/warrior), Skrivanek, Domini (Tanzanian armed guard) and Mohyina

Elyce Skrivanek, a member of the class of 2017 at Stratford High School, recently embarked on a 3-week trip to Tanzania with the Overland Adventure group. She spent her time there volunteering at the Living Water Children’s Orphanage in Arusha, touring the Serengeti, and summiting Mount Kilimanjaro. The group played games with, read to, and took lots of photos with the 36 children who call the orphanage home. The group of 12 students and two adult leaders left from New York on July 18 and returned Aug. 8. They are pictured on a walking day on the Serengeti with their local guides, including (pictured, from left) Nambai (Maasai tribal chief/warrior), Skrivanek, Domini (Tanzanian armed guard) and Mohyina.
