A flash of attitude

Take your pick of fringe, lace and full sleeves. Add a high collar and an edgy smirk, and your outfit is complete. That was the prediction for fall fashion at The Junior League of Houston Opening Fashion Show, where members as models wore stylish Tootsies threads. Fady Armanious, creative director of Tootsies, excited the crowd with “Fady’s Fall Faves,” when he brought out a handful of blouses and skirts to demonstrate. JLH president Mary Margaret “Mimi” Fraser Foerster and chairs Maidie Ryan and Tanya Galny Smalling were pleased to see 261 turn out for lunch despite the torrential morning rains. Pat Cummings was ecstatic to win a Tootsies gift card for knowing 10 fashion trends. Slightly more were at the dinner show. Nancy Levicki, founder of Dress for Success, inspired the gals and added, “A smile really is your best accessory!” In the crowd were Shannon Beirne Wiesedeppe, Katie Montgomery Mears, Shelley Taylor Ludwick, Anne Aziz, Bethany Buchanan, Lauren Mills, Whitney Walsh, Jana Phillips, Abigail Swalick Khatiblou, Jennifer Scheifley Roberts, Katie Montgomery Mears, Jennifer LeGrand Howard and Mary Catherine Sears.
