Learning lacrosse
Twins Ellie and Alexis Burger (pictured, from left) enjoy their first lacrosse season with SwizzleSticks. Third graders at St. John’s School, the girls play many different sports and decided to try lacrosse for the first time this year. SwizzleSticks lacrosse is a girls’ lacrosse program focused on skill development, rather than intense competition. The players get an introduction to lacrosse and an opportunity to learn the basics. The girls’ light practice schedule allows them to continue with the sports they have already been playing. Ellie and Alexis’ mom, Courtney, loves that her daughters are surrounded by female coaches who are positive role models and make practices fun. In addition to lacrosse, Ellie and Alexis are also active in Texas Pride field hockey, HITS theater and piano.
