Lamar fans packed the lower decks of NRG Stadium on Saturday to watch their team take on Dickinson High School in the third round of post season playoffs. The Texans lost 19-17 to the Gators but not without giving the fans an exciting game at the pro venue.

The momentum changed in the fourth quarter when Lamar intercepted a Gators pass on the Texan 1-yard line. The Gators tackled the Texans rusher in the end zone for a 2-point safety, giving the Gators possession of the ball with 11 minutes to go in the game. Lamar’s defense held Dickinson off for another five minutes until the Gators logged a 32-yard field goal, putting them ahead 19-17.

Dickinson was able to keep Lamar’s offense at bay and upon regaining the ball, they ran out the clock to win the game.

Next season will see a lot of Lamar’s standout underclassmen players return as juniors and seniors, when they will once again invite the opposition to “Come and Take It”.
