Mother-Daughter Marathon Weekend

Kelli Calderwood and her mom, Renee’ Davy Oakum, travelled to New York so Kelli could participate in the 2015 New York City Marathon and Renee' could cheer her on.

Kelli Calderwood and her mom, Renee’ Davy Oakum, travelled to New York recently so that Kelli could participate in the 2015 New York City Marathon. Kelli loves running and qualified two years ago, however, when she found out she was pregnant, she decided to sit that one out.

So this was a special weekend, as mom Renee’ went to cheer on Kelli as she completed the marathon. Other highlights included relaxing in Central Park in the fall weather, surrounded by the gorgeous leaves, and going to a World Series game, the Mets vs Kansas City Royals.

Kelli also ran the Chicago marathon in honor of her grandfather, raising money for a cure for Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and she is looking forward to running the Boston Marathon in the future. Kelli is a director in the business development office at Texas Children’s and she and her husband, Chris, moved from West U and are now in Briar Meadow in their new home.
