Treats for All: Houston Christian High School Students Collect Goods for Houston Food Bank
Collecting food for the hungry took center stage this October within Houston Christian High School’s Thespian Troupe #6706, which participated in the International Thespian Society’s Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat program. For several weeks, the 16 students in the troupe worked to collect 410 lbs. of canned and dried goods for the Houston Food Bank – twice more than last year’s goal. This new, national community service program for ITS-member schools to collect canned and dry goods for local charities and food banks resulted in thousands of lbs. of food across Texas.
The troupe partnered with Houston Christian’s Student Council and promoted the drive at school through newsletters, announcements and posters to parents, students and faculty/staff.
