Close-knit team

The Houston Express 04G Navy soccer team (pictured) came in second place at a recent tournament in Plano. The team is currently ranked second in the Texas South division. The girls are sixth and seventh graders, and many have played together for a long time. Most of the girls have been on the same team for the past seven seasons, and the players and their parents say they feel like family to each other. The teammates are (top row, from left) Aria Harkness, Kennedy Baquero, Hannah Nicholas, Kamryn Baquero, Kelsey Koenig, Kate Freeman, Zoe Marosis, Abby Bronicki, (bottom row from left) Isabelle DeBruyker, Jessica Molina, Jessie Beck, Kaia Chambers, Camille Marlin and Maya McCallum. Not pictured: Megan Chang and Audrey DeKunder.
