A night for nature

The Nature Discovery Center hosted a gala that brought together local supporters, including (pictured, from left) board president Lisa Derenthal and 2015 Twilight Gala chair Lisa Kornhauser. The gala was held at The Houstonian hotel and featured master of ceremonies Tom Koch, ABC13 news anchor and a member of the Nature Discovery Center’s advisory board. Kornhauser, of John Daugherty Realtors, served as the gala chair, and over 300 guests, including Bellaire Mayor-Elect Andrew Friedberg and his wife Jennifer attended the event. The live auction was emceed by auctioneer Ed Phillips and featured an original painting created during the event by contemporary Houston artist Taft McWhorter. The nature center is located at 7112 Newcastle St.
