In school, students generally dread reading books. But outside of school, kids of all ages love exploring their interests by reading. To find what Robert M. Beren Academy students read, I surveyed them for their book recommendations:

-The Man in the High Castle by Philip Dick, recommended by Goldie Serwatien (11): The book describes a dystopian society in which the Axis Powers won World War II.
-The Martian by Andy Weir, recommended by Netanya Abramson (11): Astronaut Mark Watney was left behind in Mars. NASA works out a way to rescue him from the foreign planet.
-The Kiss of Deception by Mary Pearson, recommended by Tali Miller (9): Princess Lia runs from her life of luxury to escape from an arranged marriage.
-The Shining by Stephen King, recommended by Tania Blanga (10): Stephen King thrills with his horror story of the adventures of Jack Torrance.
-David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell, recommended by Alex Ghelman (12): Malcolm Gladwell explores why underdogs win, despite overwhelming odds.
