New and improved
Rummel Creek Elementary opened its doors in January with many improvements. The parent-teacher group was able to contribute $500,000 towards the new building. The donation brought a new large playground structure and swing set, an upgraded track, a gazebo, tables and trashcans for the playground areas, an upgraded gymnasium floor, Houstonian artist Rose Toro’s art projects throughout the school, water bottle-filling stations, an outdoor learning center and more. Pictured on the playground structure are current and former PTA executive board members and the principal: (top row, from left) Melissa Schultz, Janet Spann, Rhonda Hetman, (front row, from left) Nancy Harn (principal), Karen Ross, Mary Chamberlain, Susan Marks, Ginger Messer, Han Wright, Heather Sheffield and Shannon Otermat.
