Young professionals wined and dined together at tables of 8 last Saturday night before heading to the after-party at Rebels Honky-Tonk. The catch? Before arriving, no one knew who they would be having dinner with that evening. And participants only found out which restaurant they were assigned to 24 hours in advance.

How did it work? Registration for this fun event, hosted by the Jewish Federation’s Jerome Robinson Family Young Adult Division, included a short form for participants to fill out with some basic information about themselves. Once registration closed, event chairs Tracy Glesby and Adam Weingarten held a “draft” to figure out who would be sitting with who. This way, participants reunited with old friends and met some new ones.

Party of 8 dinners took place at restaurants in the Washington Ave./Heights neighborhood, such as BRC Gastropub, Liberty Kitchen, Max’s Wine Dive and Mascalzone, so it wasn’t too far to go, before the crowd met up to two-step at Rebels Honky Tonk.
