Farewells

Horn Academy is saying a few bittersweet goodbyes at the end of the school year. Second-grade teacher Trudy Jackson will retire after teaching for 38 years, 26 of those at Horn. In addition to her regular teaching duties, Mrs. Jackson worked with the students so they could be successful at UIL competitions. Also, for the past 13 years, Kent Cantrell (pictured, with fifth-grade daughter Peyton) has been a parent at Horn, spending many hours helping students and teachers with whatever was needed. No job has ever been too big or too small for Kent. Kent will move on as PTO president at Bellaire High School.
