Pre-kindergartners Rafael Lamadrid, Sarah Levy, Luis Lamadrid and Ethan Phillips (pictured, from left) enjoy Bellaire Little League’s (BLL) opening day with their manager, Victor Lamadrid. The 4 and 5 year olds are members of the D-Rays T-ball team and are new to BLL this year. The opening-day festivities took place at Jessamine Field and celebrated 63 years of baseball and community. The D-Rays proudly donned their team uniforms and marched in the parade of teams, with more than 400 other BLL players, before enjoying a rock-climbing wall, bouncy castle and a raffle drawing to throw out the first pitch. This is their first opening-day celebration, but the little D-Rays look forward to the season when they can participate in BLL’s annual home-run derby for 12 year olds.
