The Kentucky Derby party given by The Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation sprinted to a sellout. Bartenders flipped juleps and patrons spun the bottle for $20 to win a vintage bottle of $200 bourbon. Guests heard Marva Skinner tell how the foundation paid all expenses for her four-part breast-reconstruction operation by Dr. Franklin Rose. City Artworks received a check from the HRRF to give professional art lessons at Texas Children’s Hospital to children with cancer. Derby attired were Cindi Rose, Ben and Laura Rose, Alex Martinez, Enrique Paxson, Ericka Bagwell and Angelica Ximenez Chapman. JMichael Soliz and Michael Pearce announced Tiffany Taylor won for best hat, and best dressed was Omar Marcus.
