My name is Rustin Rassoli, and I am a 17-year-old aspiring entrepreneur taking my first shot at the startup world. Greetale is the start of many planned ventures for me. Although it won’t change the world, I’m hoping that it’ll put me in the position to do so.
I created Greetale after my previous venture, a social-media aggregator for consumers, failed because of technical limitations. My mother had received a handwritten greeting card from her cousin, and I thought to myself that handwritten greeting cards aren’t sent as much as they should be anymore. Why? Because we are now living in an on-demand economy, but people are still going to the store to buy greeting cards and mailing them. I saw an opportunity to “uberize” the greeting-card industry, and I took it.
Greetale is a greeting-card company of the future. It’s the 2016 way of sending greeting cards. We make it easier, cheaper and faster to send greeting cards with your own handwriting inside them right from your phone. Write what you want on a piece of paper, take a picture of it in the app, and the app will place your handwriting in a card and send it, physically or digitally, from your phone. No more going to the grocery store, buying a card, writing in it, getting postage to mail it, and mailing. We take care of all of that for you for $3.
I get feedback all the time that one of Greetale’s cards has made someone’s day, and that’s what makes it all worth it for me. It’s incredible that we live in an age where a 17 year old is able to touch the lives of people all around the world and build a business off of it with no college degree. We’re drowning in opportunity, and the possibilities are endless. It’s about taking the initiative to make the world a better place.
