There were 17 clever entries at the 2016 Citizens for Animal Protection Designer Doghouse Competition held at Houston World Series of Dog Shows. Trisha Royal, community outreach director for CAPS, announced the winners. The People’s Choice Award was a house with a front porch and a picket fence called The American Dream created by Ronald Hirsch of Works in Wood. The Kids’ Choice Award was Salty Dog Beach Shack, a three-room home decorated with sandals created by Grace Guillory. Dixie’s Choice Award, selected with help from Trisha’s Chihuahuas, Annie and Flower, was The Dog Cave (created out of a barrel) by Benjamin Kuhn Eagle Scout, Troop 1089. Bow wow to all!
