Neighbors helping neighbors
Over 50 middle and high school students, including Kelly Parish and Matthew Kennedy (pictured), took part in a Bethel Church of Houston community-service project just around the corner from the church. The students worked for a week on projects around Briargrove Elementary, including organizing the school library, pressure washing the outdoor learning spaces, cleaning and organizing all the P.E. equipment and repainting many areas of the school. They also made teacher-appreciation signs for every teacher at the school. Parish is now a freshman at Texas A&M, and Kennedy, a junior at Strake Jesuit, is an alumnus of Briargrove Elementary.
