Mark Kuenstle, a fifth grader at Saint Thomas’ Episcopal School, competed in the 2016 Treasure Island Fishing Tournament over Labor Day weekend. He won first place in the Junior category (12 and under) for both speckled trout and flounder. The tournament was held in Freeport, TX over two weekends, ending with the final weigh-in and awards.

Mark has been fishing with his dad James and siblings, Connor and Emily, “since he was able to wear a life jacket and hold a fishing pole,” said mom Julie. He often goes with his dad starting around 5 a.m. In addition to fishing, Mark also loves to play soccer with his school team.
