A horseback-riding adventure and stay at the Biltmore Estate was Jessica Files Lift’s early birthday gift to her mom, Barbara Files. The gals rode two of Jessica’s horses all over the 8,500 acres of George Vanderbilt’s 250-room chateau. To give their four-legged companions a rest, they kayaked on a crystal-clear creek that runs through the estate. While on a tour, they saw the Supreme Court justices and their spouses dining in the Italian Garden with the Secret Service at their side. Barbara and Jessica were just as thrilled to eat in the former stables, Stable Café, where field-to-table food is served.
