Lucas, age 5

My name is Lucas. But I appreciate it when people call me “Sir Lucas” and tell me I am so handsome. Someone found me outside a horse barn in Katy when I was 4 months old. I never lost my exuberance or my sense of humor. I like to stand on my rear legs and “box.” I think it was my mom who was the pure-bred boxer. My dad – who knows? I have been to obedience school, but I would prefer to obey commands on my schedule. I learned something about myself recently. There was a death close to the family, and everyone was devastated. I went around the room and put my head in each person’s lap to comfort them. So although I may be too rambunctious to be a therapy dog, I am definitely a sympathy dog. I love all my friends in Tanglewood and my two treasured godmothers, Mattie and Sallie.
