Speed and stamina
Tyler Lippincott (pictured, at right), 12, recently completed his third Houston Half Marathon. He ran the 13.1-mile course in 2 hours, 19 minutes, which was a new personal record. Running buddy and mom Amber Henry (at left) also ran the race and says Tyler inherited his love of running from her and from both of his grandfathers. The sixth grader has completed numerous races, ranging from 5k to half-marathon distances. He also competed in USA Track and Field cross country as part of the 11/12U Gulf Regional championship team that represented Texas at the National Junior Olympic Championships in Birmingham, Alabama. If all goes as planned, Tyler will run his first full marathon later this year.
