Let the good times roll
Memorial Drive Garden Club party

The Memorial Drive Garden Club Mardi Gras theme was carried out in style with partiers John and Beverly Mattern and Barbara and Jay Files.

There were 80 revelers at the Memorial Drive Garden Club Mardi Gras party at Jane and Jerry Clark’s home. Blues music and a tavern backdrop in the entry set the mood. Jacqueline Grogan and Jane Tomlinson wore festive masks, and Jay and Barbara Files paraded around in purple and gold capes with gold-outfitted John and Beverly Mattern. Some of the many helpers who provided appetizers, before guests enjoyed seafood gumbo, chicken and sausage jambalaya catered by chef Ivan Rhone of Chapelwood UMC, were Bob and Melanie Whatley, Linda Squire, Roz and Byron Cooley, Susanna and Stephen Jeu, Suzy and Jim Godwin, Susan and Joe Braden, Kristi and Marc Barnhill, Barbara Upchurch, Sandy Hotz, Lindy Stockdale, Liz and Steve LaPorte, Diane and John Davis and Risa Ziman. Bartenders who made a hit were Joe Braden and Joe Stockdale – what a krewe.
