Mommy Moments: Rodeo Family Fun
It’s hard not to notice that it’s rodeo time in Houston. Restaurants, local stores and businesses have “rodeo specials” and people’s social media feeds are filling up with rodeo photos.
Rodeo time is one of my favorite times of the year. It all kicks off with Go Texan Day. I got into the spirit with my 2-year-old twins Cash and Lila and 6-week-old daughter, Georgia. I ordered her a onesie that says, “This is my First Rodeo” and dressed my twins up in rodeo gear. Their school had an adorable rodeo parade that parents and grandparents were invited to watch.
I am looking forward to taking the twins to the rodeo. They are at the perfect age. Last year, we took our twins to the petting zoo area inside Reliant Park. They loved seeing and touching the goats, sheep and other animals. It was a little crowded (being a Saturday) so this year, we will probably make plan to go during the week. After the petting zoo, we went out to the fair area for some lunch. We ate some delicious food from several different area vendors. I can’t wait to carry on the tradition each year.
What are your favorite family rodeo activities?
See the twins' Go Texan Day outfits from last year, too.
