Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association rookie Blue Jays

It was a great season for the Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association rookie Blue Jays (pictured). The 5- and 6-year-old boys attend Frostwood Elementary, and this was the first baseball experience for some of them. After a strong regular season, the boys entered the playoffs, where they made it all the way to the gold-bracket championship game. Unfortunately, the Blue Jays lost the final game, but only by one run. Second place out of 28 teams is a great way to wrap up the season. The rookie Blue Jays are (top row, from left): coaches David Slye, Evan Villaruel, John Anderson, Preston Cody, Fabian Torres and Bo Pettit; (second row, from left): Houston Villaruel, Kerner Francis, Caleb Torres, Clark Slye, Austin Pettit, Nathan Min and William Tristan; (bottom row, from left): J.R. Anderson, Everett Cody, John Michael Robertson, Ripken Witt and Carter Rogers.
