Happy Friday! Here are some fun events going on this weekend to consider:
CP3 Day
Welcome the newest addition to the Houston Rockets, nine-time all-star and superstar point guard Chris Paul. There will be a rally in the Toyota Center West Club on Friday, 1:30 p.m., followed by the streaming of Paul’s first press conference as a Rocket. Performances, prize giveaways, food and a live appearance by Paul will make this an afternoon to remember.
Houston Symphony Summer Concert Series
Do you enjoy classic video games such as Mario, Pokémon and Zelda? Then come to Jones Hall for a selection of music from your favorite video games performed by the Houston Symphony on Friday evening. The performances will be accompanied with synchronized lighting and video footage. If you’re a fan of Prince, don’t miss The Music of Prince, Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
Beer 101 with Saint Arnold Brewing Company
Join the Houston Arboretum, in partnership with Saint Arnold Brewing Company for an introductory class into the world of beer. Learn from an official Saint Arnold instructor how beer is made and how to vary tastes when creating your own. 21+ .
JULYDOSCOPE
Enjoy a free evening of family-friendly movies, poetry, live music and more. On Saturday, Houston Cinema Arts Society will host JULYDOSCOPE 2017 at Discovery Green. Hosted by Ernie Manouse, JULYDOSCOPE 2017 will begin with trivia, games and giveaways at 7 p.m.
Sunday Family Zone
Bring your families to the Museum of Fine Arts on Sunday for an afternoon of games, books, activities and mini-tours of the exhibits. There will be two sessions of storybook circles: one at 1:30 and one at 3 p.m. This program is recommended for children ages 3 and up.
Sunday Night Live
Come down to CITYCENTRE on Sunday evening for a night of free, live music. With a lineup compiled by Grammy-nominated artist Wayne Watson, this is the perfect way to close out a weekend.
