Pee Wee Hooks

Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association’s (SBMSA) Pee Wee Hooks team (pictured) won the American League (AL) championship with a 7-0 victory over the Aggies. The 9- and 10-year-old boys finished in a first-place tie in the American League, which is SBMSA’s showcase junior-league baseball program. During the playoffs, the Hooks were undefeated, including one game where they came back from four runs down in the final inning, and won in extra innings. The Hooks are (top row, from left): coaches David Vandor, Rick Witte and Baris Ertan; (middle row, from left): Tommy Vandor, William Coates, Jay Shirley, Jacob Witte, Michael Eubanks and Cameron Ertan; (bottom row, from left): Jeb Burkhart, Joe Meloy, Pierce Aspinall and Palmer Mullinax.
