Lea Shenker, Lynn Bullard, and Patricia Lobo
Lynn Bullard (pictured, center), a retired teacher, won the West University Community Building’s spelling bee (second place went to Patricia Lobo, at right, and third place to Lea Shenker, at left). After seven rounds, Bullard spelled the word “chauffeur” correctly for the win. This was the first spelling bee held in six years. The previous winner was Sylvia Knudsen.
