Author and parent coach Randi Rubenstein (pictured, on right, with Ashley and Dean Mills) held a book signing at the Barnes and Noble River Oaks location for her book The Parent Gap. For every book that she sold, Randi donated $5 to Ashley Mills’ family, who are victims of the recent flood. In addition to that, hundreds of dollars in cash were raised by attendees. Ashley is a single mom with a 10-year-old son, Dean, who lived in Nob Hill and lost everything in Harvey. Ashley works in marketing and communications for Congregation Beth Yeshurun. Ashley and Dean escaped her first floor apartment and she was rescued by the fire department by boat with chest high water (along with their two dogs).
