Within hours of Harvey’s landfall, members of Chapelwood United Methodist Church took action. Groups mobilized to put boots on the ground, paddles in the water, and residents on dry land. Some Chapelwood members created HoustonHarveyRescue.com, a linchpin in matching stranded Houstonians with volunteer rescue boats. Recovery assistance from the church includes home-cleanup crews, insurance advocacy, transportation, meals, laundry support and prayer.
