The Luman family held up this sign at the first Astros home playoffs game. It ended up on the Jumbo-Tron.

During the first home Astros playoffs game, John and Becky Luman went to cheer on the Astros with Zane, a sixth grader at Tanglewood Middle School, and Ariana, an eighth grader at Second Baptist School, who got to leave school a little early.

So the family held up a sign that said: “This is better than math class.” It ended up being featured on the Jumbo-Tron.

Zane Luman

Zane Luman, age 12, is an avid Legos hobbyist and created this Astros star out of Legos.

Zane, age 12, loves to construct the world around him in Legos. An entire room in the Luman home is comprised of a complex city. There are streets, parks and buildings made up of Legos, plus other colorful constructions.

“He’s been a Lego phenom since he got his first Lego set,” said dad John Luman.

During big sports games, such as the Super Bowl, Zane creates scoreboards made up of Legos. So it only made sense that with the Houston Astros playing in the World Series, Zane would come up with this Astros star.

The Luman family are looking forward to cheering on the Astros through the rest of the World Series.
