NCL comes through
Young members of the National Charity League, ranging from seventh graders to seniors, attended the Houston Hearts Harvey Workshop. Lisa Dunwoody and Stacy Farber were originally chairs for the annual food drive the chapter does each year. When Harvey hit, a lot of the routes for the food drive were compromised. They came up with the idea of the Harvey Recovery Workshop instead. They asked members of the chapter to donate items to groups helping Harvey victims. In all, they provided 800 meals for Kids’ Meals, 400 cleaning care packages for Memorial Assistance Ministries, 200 grocery bags of food for Fair Haven Food Pantry, 600 cans of cat food, 400 cans of dog food and 500 pounds of dry dog and cat food to Citizens for Animal Protection, large amounts of cleaning supplies to West Houston Assistance Ministries, and 200 gift cards, stuffed animals, books and backpacks to SBISD.
