My birthday was here. I was so excited to open the last (and best) present. It was tickets to the KISS concert! Ahhhhh! My favorite band! And I was going to go with my dad, my good friend Benjamin and his dad.
Finally, the day came, Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017. Benjamin and his dad picked us up. We had dinner and then drove to the concert. We walked in the building, and people were dressed up with makeup like the band. It was psycho! We waited in line to get an oversized T-shirt. Mine had “KISS World Tour 2017” on the back, and my dad’s said “Shout It Out Loud.” We walked around looking at things. Benjamin said, “Let’s go to the VIP table.” We went and turned to walk away when suddenly the VIP person gave us a VIP card. Yay! We were VIPs!
At 7 p.m., the doors opened, and we went in. The curtains had the KISS logo on it. After waiting, the curtains dropped, and the band started to sing Deuce! I thought, “Woo-hoo! This is the best day of my life!” Then, they sang God of Thunder! Wow! Gene Simmons flew up to this hanging stage. As usual, he put a blood pack in his mouth and started chewing and blood poured out of his mouth. He sang, “Oh yah,” over and over.
Suddenly, Paul Stanley flew over our head and landed on a raised platform nearby. With a bright light in my eye, I still looked. He sang Black Diamond, War Machine and Psycho Circus. The last song was Rock and Roll All Nite. There was white confetti, fog, fire blasts and all kinds of colored lights. It was amazing.
After all the fun, lights and fire, it was over, but people did not leave. After about two minutes, lights began to shine, a fire blast went up, and the confetti and fog happened again. They played my favorite song, Detroit Rock City! After that, it was completely over, and I said, “Best night ever!”
