Cooking competition
Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart teamed up with celebrity chef Jet Tila and Flik Independent School Dining for an educational cooking competition among Houston-area students. Chef Tila was on hand to assist the students in a Food Network-style face-off with trivia, sabotage and delicious dishes cooked up by the students. In preparation for the competition, students from each school learned how to cook by working with their school chef in their school kitchen. Duchesne Academy walked away with top honors after besting three other schools, Fort Bend Christian Academy, The Village School and British International. As the winners, the Duchesne team donated $1,000 to their charity of choice, Catholic Charities.
