Music in the air
Justin and Lynn Cooper met musician/songwriter Erick Baker from Knoxville, Tenn., when he was performing for the troops in Tokyo in 2012. Justin was a senior defense officer and attaché at the U.S. Embassy. When Justin retired from the Navy after 32 years of service in 2013, Lynn asked Erick secretly if he would record a song Justin had written as a young officer, for the ceremony party. It was emotionally touching for Justin to hear his music and lyrics being performed by Erick. Recently, they had him perform in a few home concerts on his Back Where It All Began tour. In the enthusiastic crowd were Kimberly and Michael Guhl, Bo and Sarah Bennett, and Rupali and Shalin Pate, who also quenched their thirst with Justin’s home-brewed Be Wilde and Harveycane beers.
