12th Annual MLK Youth Parade
The MLK Youth Parade kicks off the 2018 MLK holiday weekend this Saturday in Midtown. The parade stats on San Jacinto St. at Elgin St. at 12 p.m.
Bayou City Play in the Park
Bayou City Play will set up temporary, inspiring places for kids to explore within Evelyn’s Park this Saturday, 1-3 p.m. Bayou City Play supports and promotes child-directed play and sets up scrap materials for kids to create forts, slides, costumes, or whatever they imagine.
Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon
Run, volunteer or head downtown on Sunday morning to support runners during the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon. The marathon begins and ends downtown. Good luck to all readers running!
MATCH Family Fun Day
MATCH will hosts its third annual Family Fun Day on Sunday, 1-4 p.m., offering tons of fun activities and entertainment for the whole family. There’ll be kid-friendly musical concerts, dance performances, face painters, balloon artists, stilt walkers, a chalk artist, a bounce house and more.
24th Annual MLK Grande Parade Midtown Houston
The MLK Grande Parade, one of the largest, single-day multicultural events in the U.S., will be held on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in Midtown. The parade begins on San Jacinto St. at Elgin St. beginning at 10 a.m.

The Children’s Museum of Houston will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., during their 22nd Annual MLK Day Celebration on Monday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
MLK Day at Rothko Chapel
In honor of MLK Day, the Rothko Chapel will play speeches from his life throughout the day. Audio Installations will begin at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
