Swim/bike/run at NRG

St. Vincent de Paul sixth graders Oxford Colley and Jack Magnus (from left) celebrate at the finish line of the Houston Texans Kids Triathlon, held at NRG Stadium. Despite unseasonably cold weather, the boys powered through the 200-yard swim/6-mile bike/1-mile run event. Jack is a seasoned triathlete, and this was his seventh event. He finished 10th in his age group, and then began training for his next event, the 3rd Annual Justin's TRIumph Splash 'n Dash. This was Oxford’s first triathlon, and he is already planning to do another one. Biking and running are his
favorites, with swimming a distant third. "We tolerated swimming, barely, because it was so crowded and cold and aggressive with everyone kicking each other," he said. Oxford and Jack trained with a group of St. Vincent de Paul participants: Lucina Oracionez, Luke Magnus, Hazel Egging, Timmy Duman, Natalie Webb, Ian Anderson, Luisa Bacigalupo, Grayson Yates, Natalie Cenetiempo and Mabyn Coleman.
