Death and life

Twenty five years ago, Marilyn Sage was murdered for her car and $13 in her Galleria-area apartment. A tribute in her honor was given by her sister Helen Sage Perry at Café Express Uptown. The gathering of 70 friends reminisced at photos of Marilyn and shared stories. The Hon. Michael McSpadden led with his story of trying the case to help the family gain justice. Margie and Jerry Koch, friends since high school, and Marilyn’s brother, John Sage, founder of Bridges to Life, were a few who told stories after “family vocalist” Jane Vandiver sang Unforgettable. In the crowd were long-time best friends Colleen Sherlock and Mary Holmes Thompson.
