Cheers to a New School Year: Moms & Mimosas
On the first day of school, the Carpool Mafia raced from drop-off line to Bellaire’s ‘401 restaurant at 9 a.m. Winning prizes, shopping local businesses, dancing with DJ-spun party tunes, they toasted with mimosas to the 2018-19 school year and the end of a long “full-time with kids” summer.
From preschool to college, public to private, newbies to veterans, pajamas/yoga pants to some in full makeup, the school moms (and a few brave dads) kept the celebration going until it was time to transform back into responsible parents. Energized from a dose of adult-only time, they left empowered to conquer the annual fun of filling out stacks of school forms.
The Bellaire police and fire departments did make an appearance but luckily only to say thanks, as 10 percent of proceeds from the party benefited the Bellaire Police and Fire Foundation. Cheers to a great new year!
