Eagle Scout celebration
Troop 11 recently celebrated five scouts who reached the Eagle Rank, (pictured, from left) Will King, Reuben Sieler, Patrick O'Connor, Liam Williams and Luke Elizondo. They completed service projects across the city for their Eagle Scout project, including projects at Nature Discovery Center, The Forge, Galveston Bay Foundation at Idylwood Park and Shearn Elementary School. Troop 11, the oldest troop in Houston, has awarded 197 Eagle Ranks since its first in 1916. By February 2019, Troop 12 for girls will be established and chartered by First Presbyterian as well. This month, Troop 11 is selling fresh holiday wreaths, centerpieces and swags, which can be preordered each Sunday in Nov. at First Presbyterian at 5300 S. Main, 8 a.m.-noon, or see tr11.org.
