Walk by the Serrano family's home in Spring Valley this month and you’ll be wowed by lots of skeletal runners. Mary Serrano always finds joy in decorating for Halloween and, this year, decided to combine her two passions: Halloween and running. The Serrano family – Mary, Elijio, Erica and Jennifer – are all avid runners, participating nearly every weekend in Houston-area races, including the Houston Marathon.
If you look closely at the display, every skeleton has unique decorations, such as a replica timing map, clocks, spectators, strollers, bystanders and more. There are about 25 skeletons “racing” on the lawn until Halloween. It’s clear this family wins in the race to impressive Halloween decorations. Now Elijio is left wondering . . . where will they store the skeletons after Oct. 31?!
