Proceeds to Parkinson’s
More than 350 gathered at The Astorian for the 2018 Annual Awards Gala benefitting the Houston Area Parkinson Society, which raised more than $300,000. Event chairs Anne and Stuart Coco and young professional chairs Calia and Peter Pettigrew planned an evening filled with music, dinner and dancing. HAPS’ new award is named in honor of President George H. W. Bush, who signed the Americans with Disabilities Act into law. Proceeds fund services for families affected by Parkinson’s. Shern-Min Chow, KHOU-TV anchor/reporter, served as emcee. Guests included Joe and Hala Ahmad, Gloria Hui and Joiner Cartwright, Jr., Cathy and Joe Jankovic, Jo and Jim Furr, Klinka and John Lollar, Francey Pengra and Ed Allday, Lisa and Mike O’Leary, Kristen and Johnny Perry, Drs. Ellin and Robert Grossman, Mimi and Rob Kerr, Marie Fay Evnochides, Judy and Jim Nicklos, Pamela and Rod Skaufel, Gail and Mike Hendryx, Jose Oti and chef Brandi Key.
