Speak of Me as I Am: a Celebration of African American Contributions to Shakespeare
Celebrate Black History month with a Friday afternoon performance that showcases the contribution of African American actors to Shakespeare. Main Street Theater partners with Harris County Public Library to put on the show, which is free and interactive!
Head to Edwards Cinema this Sunday for the kickoff of the film portion of Houston’s ReelAbilties Film & Arts Festival, a 10-day annual event that celebrates the lives and talents of people with disabilities. You can also visit the Center for Art and Photography at Celebration Company to check out the “ReelArt” exhibition, which features art by Ezra Roy, a native Houstonian and visual artist with Down syndrome.
If you missed last weekend’s Lunar New Year festivities, there’s still time to celebrate! Asia Society is hosting a special festival at the Galleria on Sunday afternoon. There will be free arts and crafts, activities and performances the whole family can enjoy!
Saint Arnold Mardi Gras Pub Crawl
Join Saint Arnold Brewery for a Mardi Gras-themed pub crawl in the Heights neighborhood this Saturday afternoon. The day kicks off at Little Woodrow’s and stops by other spots including BB’s Tex-Orleans, Bobcat Teddy’s and more before finishing at Onion Creek. Bring your friends and a designated driver!
Enjoy live bands and DJs while chowing down on one of Houston’s favorite foods: crawfish. This festival guarantees a good time.
Get in the rodeo mood with the Rodeo Clown Roundup Concert at Karbach Brewing Company on Sunday afternoon. Enjoy great beer and Texas country music from Casey Donahew, Nikki Lane, Old 97’s and more!
