Bellaire Little League home run derby
Yahya Mir (pictured, with trophy) is this year’s Bellaire Little League (BLL) homerun derby champ. After hitting 10 balls over the fence during the annual event, he was declared the winner. The competition is an annual tradition and part of BLL’s celebration for the opening of the spring season. Each year, the oldest boys in the league have a chance to participate in the contest. The 12-year-old players take their turns at bat to see how many balls they can hit outside the park. Friends and homerun competitors are (from left) Jacob Leach, Marshall Smith, Joe DeToto, Yahya, Henry Turner, Paolo Rappazzo, Andrew GagliardiMaddux El Hakem.
