Bruce Williams, after a 30-year layoff from swimming, started again at the age of 50 and has risen to be one of the top competitors in his 65-69 age group. He competed in the U.S. Masters Swimming Championships in Mesa, Arizona, with 2,000 other swimmers from across the nation. He swims for the local Rice Masters Swim Team that includes college students through 90 year olds. In April, he won three individual events, placed second in another and was a member of two relay teams that also placed first. In 2018, Bruce’s times in five events were ranked in the top 5 worldwide. He makes a splash alright!
