Umbra, age 3

My name is Umbra Chu. When people see me, they say, “Oh, such a pretty, cute, little dog.” When we’re about to go out, I patiently sit at the door, waiting for my parents to get ready. I don’t run out even if the door is open. But if I see my friend Teddy (our neighbor’s dog) outside, I use my nose to prop the door open, and I run out to play with him. If Teddy sees me, he does the same. One time, he pulled the leash off his mom’s hand and ran with the leash to play with me. We run together, tackle each other, and pick each other’s ears. But we know we shouldn’t run far, so we always run around our houses. I am only six months older than Teddy, and weigh about the same. I love having my best friend as a neighbor. We will be friends for life!
