She was no stranger to Houston, but when her cousin Meredith McCarthy hosted a luncheon to introduce Lexey Fender to friends, she got another viewpoint. At the party she heard about garden and book clubs but was most excited to join the Newcomers Club and learn Mah Jongg. Lexey is originally from Victoria, Texas, with a recent five-year life stop in Santa Fe when her mother, Dorothy Walston Alcorn, relocated to The Hallmark in Houston. Son Gage and Courtney Fender and her first grandchild, Wyatt, a girl, live nearby, and her daughter Sterling Fender lives in NYC to study screenwriting. Lexey has embraced big city life, too.
